Over 1200 people from Cross Section of Society put forth their views before high Level Congress Policy Planning Goup | KNO

The High Level AICC Policy Planning Group on J&K Affairs headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh returned today afternoon after two days hectic schedule of meeting and interacting with large number of delegations from cross section of society.

Over 25 delegations and groups met the Policy Planning Group today, the second day of interaction with total around 58 delegations and groups involving over 1200 people met the group during the two days stay, here.

 

The delegations, groups and some individual from different shades of the Society of Kashmir met the group and apprised them of the ground situation and the reasons behind the prevailing unrest and alienation of the people arising out of the resentment of the mishandling of the situation by the present Centre and state Government.

 

They also gave them inputs of the feelings and aspirations of the people from different nook and corner of the Kashmir valley especially the failures of the present dispensations and the betrayal of the mandate  of the people by the  ruling dispensation, even they are not able to implement the commitments made in the Agenda of Alliance, they said.

 

The delegations also referred to the various working groups and interlocutor’s recommendations including the Justice Sagheer Committee Report and sought implementation of various recommendations as a way forward to restore the confidence of the people. They also mentioned about various CBMs and initiative during the UPA regime, however regretted that the present dispensation at the Centre and the State have failed to carry forward that process.

 

The delegations which met the PPG today included Bar Association Anantnag, Fruit Gowers Association, LOC Trade Delegation, intellectual Forum, Minority Delegation, ALCs (Border Residents), Delegation led by Mr. Mohd Shafi Pandit former chairman PSC, Delegations from Baramulla Kupwara,  Bandipora Ganderbal, Shopian Pulwama and others.

 

Earlier the delegation which met the PPG included Main stream opposition parties, NC, CPIM, PDF, DPN, CPI, Panthers Party, Awami Itihadd Party, Kashmir Civil Society, (KCS) South Kashmir Civil Society,  Delegations from Anantnag, Kulgam, Srinagar, Budgam, STs, OBCs, Shia representatives, Hussianee People’s Council, Flood Victims, Youth Forum, , KPS non migrants, Womens Delegation, Saffron Growers, Hotel House Boat, KHROFF, Tour and Travels, Adventure Tourism, Panchayat Delegation, Minority Delegation  and various other groups and individuals.
